I am happily married to my husband Phil; we have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. My previous jobs have been with Oranga Tamariki which both myself and my husband worked in as caregivers for 23 years alongside with young men. This was a real eye opener for me as a foster mum, knowing what some of these young men had gone through, the key to know and understand these young men was to sit and listen to them. I learned a lot from these young men, realising what was missing in their life, very humbling experience for me.
My other previous job was with Bream Bay Trust working as a whanau connector, this was another job I loved, working along side with community and all walks of life. My values in life are to guide and help our whanau to restore a happy and healthy relationship. Our whanau don’t need to think that they are alone, this is where we come in to their life, is to walk next to them, and provide the support and love that has been missing in their life. Today I am very grateful to be working with SafeMan SafeWomen SafeFamily, as an administrator for the Northland area. Our main office for the North is based in Ruakaka, and we all love our mahi unconditionally, thanks to SafeMan SafeFamily for believing in us.
